Once again we made a trip to Berne by train to submit our visa application for India at the Indian Embassy.
Since the weather was wonderful, we decided to walk across the bridge (Kirchenfeldbruecke) above the River Aare (pronounced Are-ray) to the old town. A farmers’campaign for the November election was in full swing in the Parliament Square. Homemade cheese, sausages, wild honey among other farm products were on display. Alporn was being staged for the benefit of the crowd and passers-by.
We had lunch at Harmonie, one of the oldest Bernese traditional restaurants since 1915. It’s only a few steps away from the famous Zytglogge (the clock tower).
